Job Description

OVERVIEW

TheRefined Sugar Weigheroperates packaging equipment and performs multiple tasks to include filling and weighing products on various lines.

DETAILED ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Operates basic packaging equipment such as 25lb, 50lb and 100lb bagging machines
  • Performs basic procedures such as filling coder with ink, changing coder for appropriate abstract and lot numbers
  • Obtains and replaces empty bags as required
  • Threads machines, replace needles; acquires and mounts spools of thread, tape, cord and other material as needed
  • Secures, places and fills bags on filling device on manual, semi-automatic or automatic scales to specified weights within tolerances required
  • Checks bag weights, adding or removing sugar or adjusting scales as required
  • Operates sewing machine and accessory equipment to close filled bags
  • Inspects for defective sewing and remove rejects from line
  • Performs necessary cleaning, oiling and adjustment of scales, sewing machines and associated equipment to maintain operational continuity

WORK EXPERIENCES

  • Previous work experience in an industrial/manufacturing facility, or related environment
  • Previous experience operating packaging equipment is preferred

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required

ESSENTIAL CAPABILITIES (KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES)

  • Ability to read and adjust scales on various types of packaging equipment and related equipment
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, including overtime, weekends and holidays
  • Ability to perform industrial labor tasks such as but not limited to climbing, lifting (up to 50 pounds), standing and walking for long periods of time

HOURLY RATE

  • Starting Rate $ 25.12
