Position Summary:
IEM is looking for a Full Time- Environmental Compliance Officer. The ideal candidate shall be knowledgeable on HUD's environmental policies and have experience on gathering data from project proposals and descriptions to prepare and analyze environmental review compliance documents as required by NEPA and the Environmental Policy Act of Puerto Rico; be able to perform project environmental screenings and identify choice limiting actions, the correct level of review, and the need for the eight-step decision making process. Must have previous experience identifying and overseeing permitting activities for proposed projects, both at the federal and state levels. Must have hands-on experience on environmental and Area of Benefit map preparation using tools such as GIS mapping. Have a positive disposition to participate in all phases of project management, report writing, and recordkeeping. Must be able to identify both how the project can affect the environment and how the environment can affect the project, site, and end users.
