Job Summary
I. Advanced sensors, telemetry, and control
This investment area consists of approximately 170 IPCs to bring automation to PG&E's transmission system's monitoring and control. The projects will include upgrading the SCADA and automation and monitoring technology within equipment.
II. Expanding transmission capacity and reliability
This investment area consists of over 80 IPCs throughout PG&E's transmission system consisting of replacing conductors in existing lines for higher capacity and replacing protection equipment.
III. Expanding substation capacity and reliability
This investment area consists of over 150 IPCs substations throughout PG&E's transmission system. These projects will increase substation capacity and reliability. Locations: Utility customer- and utility-owned properties in PG&E service territory in California. PG&E is headquartered in Oakland, CA.
Required Skills/ Abilities
  • Individuals must possess at least 5 years of experience in transmission & distribution.
  • Experience in construction management organization development, operations and implementation, and QA/QC and health and safety and OSHA compliance (as applicable).
  • Demonstrated experience with projects or programs at comparable scale in a regulated utility environment.
  • Effectiveness of supply chain management with respect to quality control, delivery schedules, and cost management; and demonstrated experience in overseeing management of contractor furnished or government-financed materials for the identified role of transmission & distribution throughout a large number of project components being deployed and constructed.
  • Individuals must demonstrate experience in assessing effectiveness and execution of contractor performance in executing EPC responsibilities or large-scale DER deployment, sub-contractor performance in accordance to requirement and clauses.
  • Ability to travel to offices or project sites. Travel will be expected as an exception or sample basis only.
  • Ability to make 3 trips in the first year, and one trip annually for additional years.

Education
  • Individuals must possess a bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college, in such fields as engineering disciplines, physical sciences, public or business administration related to technical, manufacturing or construction management.
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working at a computer.
