Project Controls Specialist V Overview

Job Summary:

KeyLogic is actively seeking Project Controls Specialist Level V personnel as part of our staff augmentation team supporting the Department of Energy at the Y12 National Security Complex located in Oak Ridge, Tennessee.

U.S. Citizenship is required.

Successful candidates will be employees of KeyLogic, a premier government contractor charged with employing highly motivated and well-qualified personnel who can advance Y-12's core mission to ensure a safe, secure, and reliable U.S. nuclear deterrent, which is essential to national security. Though employed by KeyLogic, the employee will take day-to-day direction and assignments from Y-12 staff employed directly by the security complex. Pay, benefits, Human Resources, and Employment Management functions are provided by KeyLogic.

Responsibilities

Job Responsibilities:

  • Utilizes Primavera P6 to develop, update, and maintain project schedules, ensuring alignment with project milestones, deliverables, and resource availability.

  • Performs comprehensive cost analysis to monitor project expenses, identify variances, and recommend corrective actions to maintain budget adherence.

  • Implements effective cost control measures to mitigate risks and optimize project financial performance.Conducts earned value analysis to assess project progress, forecast future performance, and generate accurate reports for stakeholders.

  • Collaborates closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to gather project data, identify potential issues, and develop proactive solutions.

  • Provides timely and insightful reports on project performance, highlighting key metrics, trends, and areas of concern.

  • Continuously evaluate project controls processes and tools to identify opportunities for improvement and efficiency enhancement.

  • Supports project teams in implementing project controls best practices and ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.

  • Acts as a subject matter expert on project controls methodologies, tools, and techniques, providing guidance and training to project team members as needed.

  • Typical work schedule will be Mon.-Thur. 10-hour days (4/10 schedule).

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BA/BS Degree plus 20 years of direct experience required, or an MA or MS with 19 years of experience.

  • Pre-employment Drug Screen - External applicants selected for this position are required to successfully complete a post-offer, pre-employment drug test.

  • Medical Exam(s) - Job related pre-placement medical examinations may be required for this position.

  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a clearance from the Department of Energy. If determined as such, this position would be identified as a Workplace Substance Abuse (WSAP) testing designated position. WSAP positions require participation in an ongoing random drug testing program in addition to the pre-employment drug screen.

  • Qualified applicants must be a US citizen, at least 18 years of age, and able to meet pre-employment requirements including any required physicals, drug screen, and/or background investigation to satisfy clearance requirements from the Department of Energy.

Desired Qualifications:

  • The ability to obtain a DOE Q clearance is preferred.
