Job Summary:

Responsible for the efficient day-to-day operation of assigned area with particular emphasis on managing customer orders, building shipping schedules, providing valuable inputs to shipping department, and implementing improvements to optimize shipping performance.

Key Job Accountabilities:


Labor Management

  • Partner with Shipping Team to ensure the safe, clean, and efficient operation of the shipping dock
  • Provide input into staffing needs in order to meet customer requirements
  • Develop, optimize, and implement shipping schedules to ensure efficient operation
  • Organize and perform all necessary training to ensure the quality of product shipped and documents provided to our partners


Operation

  • Partner with Customer Service, Central Transportation, Carriers, TMS, Order Processing, and Warehousing to ensure that orders are provided on time and in full.
  • Effectively identify, mitigate, and escalate risks to delivering orders according to the site's commitments.
  • Provide inputs daily huddles with team and ensure that they are aware of KPI (Key Performance Indicator) goals, and what was executed previous day.
  • Understand current and short-term future workload demand and make suggestions to supervisors and managers to ensure that demand requirements are met.
  • Ensure that all OSHA guidelines are adhered too, as well as all Environmental Health and Safety requirements are adhered too.
  • Utilize LMS and Lean to drive continuous improvement within the site through 8 step problem solving, A3, and continuous improvement charters.

Required & Preferred Experience/Training:

  • Must have responsible work habits and good judgment and decision-making ability, self-motivated and detail-oriented individual.
  • High School diploma or GED- required
  • Preferred: 2 years of experience in an order processing environment
  • Preferred: Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word and RF scanning equipment.
  • Preferred: Haz Mat and Forklift experience
  • Ability to obtain L'Oreal forklift certification
  • RCRA (Resource Conservation and Recovery Act) Haz Mat Training
  • Preferred: 1 year or less of Continuous Improvement exposure
  • Preferred: Working knowledge of WMS (Warehouse Management System), Excel and Word.

Working Conditions:

  • 8-hour standard working day, Day Shift M - F (Varies depending on customer demand)
  • Overtime can be expected during peak seasons based on business needs to increase standard shift time to 10 hours, plus working weekends
  • Personal protective equipment required including safety glasses, gloves, steel-toed shoes and vest; other equipment provided dependent upon role
  • Close to moderate supervision required for this position
  • Able to bend, twist and lift up to 38lbs using proper lifting techniques
