Our Windows Infrastructure team is a group of dedicated professionals who work daily to ensure core Microsoft Windows application and infrastructure disruptions are kept to a minimum. Working in the IT Operations organization in support of the national security mission to maintain the safety, security, and effectiveness of the United States nuclear weapons stockpile, we serve a critical function to identify, investigate and resolve issues while minimizing the business impact. The Windows Infrastructure team works with our network operations center to provide administration and engineering support to any issues identified by the NOC. We are looking for a supervisor to lead part of this team as we continue to grow and mature our network infrastructure.
The Windows Infrastructure supervisor position is a limited telework position. Due to the nature of the work and the networks supported, the majority of time will be spent onsite.

Job Specific Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement standards, procedures, and processes for the Window Infrastructure team
  • Lead resolution of MS Windows Server and Application issues
  • Participate in the business continuity team as a team member
  • Understand, develop, track, monitor, and report on key performance metrics such as Application and Server availability
  • Ensure Window Infrastructure team is monitoring and responding proactively to issues rather than reactively
  • Ensure Window Infrastructure team is working with Network Operations Center to provide to ensure the appropriate monitoring is being performed
  • Develop, mentor, and retain top Windows System administrator talent
  • Prioritize incoming requests to ensure top priority items are addressed first
  • Coordinate with and prioritize work for facilities teams responsible for physical switch installation, wiring upgrades/installation, and final tie-ins.
  • Work with cyber security to identify and implement security solutions and security baselines within the core MS Windows infrastructure
  • Act as a liaison with IS&S senior leadership and other key stakeholders to brief on Windows Systems issues as well as System improvements

Minimum Job Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree: Minimum5 years of relevant experience.
  • 13 or more years of relevant education, training, and/or progressive relevant experience will be reviewed and considered for equivalency to these requirements.
Preferred Job Requirements
  • Candidate degree should be in a relevant Engineering, Computer Science, Management, or Physical Science discipline
  • Successful candidates shall have the following technical background
  • Enterprise Windows Active Directory implementation/troubleshooting
  • WAN/LAN connectivity
  • Experience with implementation/troubleshooting group policies for security hardening Windows desktops and servers.
  • Experience with implementing and troubleshooting key Windows solutions like Exchange, SharePoint or SCCM.
  • Knowledge/understanding of SCADA, IoT, or Operational Technology
  • Cloud networking and delivering a "path to the cloud"
  • Strong cyber security background
  • DISA STIG
  • Understanding of sever technologies such as Linux, VMWare, networking
  • Understanding of scripting solutions for Windows automation

Requires a Q clearance; however all qualified candidates will be considered regardless of their current clearance status. The ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance is required.

Position may require entry into Materials Access Areas (MAA) and participation in the Human Reliability Program (HRP). If HRP is required, candidate must complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph, pursuant to 10CFR 709. Medical requirements may apply.
