Primary Responsibilities

HDR is seeking an Industrial Project Manager to join our Industrial, Oil, Gas and Chemicals team in PA, WV, and OH. This individual will be responsible for management of projects supporting the design of facilities for a variety of private sector clients, including natural gas and other industrial markets. The Project Manager will be a seller-doer who establishes and maintains client relationships, develops proposals, brings in projects, develops plans for performing the work, monitors and communicates the status of their projects, and leads multi-discipline project teams to successful completion of the work. This role requires significant client interaction (from pre-positioning for the work through project completion) and strong verbal and written communication skills as needed for regular interaction with internal staff such as project team members, marketing staff, and operations leadership.

In this role we'll count on you to:

  • Plan, schedule and manage all aspects of multi-disciplined projects for industrial clients

  • Independently coordinate work of professional staff and balance team throughout entire project's development

  • Establish and develop client relations, and be involved with marketing, contractual, design and production meetings

  • Participate in reviews with project owners and/or various governing agencies for compliance

  • Conduct work sessions for design development and contract document in conjunction with other staff

  • Coordinate workload through entire project development, and ensure completion of work products on schedule and within budget

  • Track financial aspects of projects, and coordinate and adjust work effort with team to ensure work is completed within parameters of agreed-to schedule

  • Work with Business/Accounting Manager or Project Controller and Department Manager for internal project reviews with company management as needed

  • Perform other duties as needed

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or related discipline

  • A minimum of 5 years oil and gas project management experience

  • Competence in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Project

  • Basic understanding of Google Earth, ESRI ArcGIS, Autodesk AutoCAD, and Bentley Microstation

  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

  • Must have strong communication skills, and be self-motivated, organized, flexible, and able to work both independently and with a project team to completion of tasks

  • A valid driver's license and safe driving record is required

  • Must be willing to travel/perform field work

Preferred Qualifications

  • PE or EIT with intention to obtain PE

  • PMP Certification

  • Preference given to local candidates

The expected compensation range for this position is $82,320.00 - $117,600.00 annually depending upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full-time regular positions. Temporary and part-time roles eligible for limited benefits.)
