Summary of Position: Internship position will provide the individual with educational learning opportunities, projects, and assigned duties. Working in coordination with the Athletics Manager, the Intern will help oversee athletic department operations including recruitment, fundraising, gameday operations, marketing and personnel.

This internship would be unpaid for the Spring Semester

Essential Functions

  1. Maintain and uphold the College values of Learning, Excellence, Accountability, Diversity, Student Success, Teamwork, Integrity, and Respect. Regular attendance is required.

  2. Perform office function's which may include, but are not limited to: respond to internal/external customers and staff; create and modify documents, records, and reports using College standard software; maintain hard copy and/or electronic filing system; monitor inventory and budget information; schedule, coordinate, and prepare materials for meetings and/or appointments.

  3. Complete all required College training and responsible for maintaining the skills necessary to complete the essential functions of the position as defined by the department.

  4. Student Success is the cornerstone of Western's culture and the college may assign employees as needed to other areas or additional duties to foster this success.

  5. Athletic Administration - Supporting actions/tasks may include:
  • Assist with NJCAA Compliance and eligibility
  • Assist with sport program academic support initiatives
  • Assist with required paperwork
  1. Marketing, promotion, sports information - Supporting actions/tasks may include:
  • Market and promote upcoming competitions and events
  • Help post to Western Athletics Social Media Pages
  • Livestream home and away games
  • Upload stats to NJCAA and Western websites
  • Assist with recruitment efforts
  1. Athletic Facilities/Event Management - supporting actions/tasks may include:
  • Assist with gameday facility setup, operations, closeout
  1. Fundraising and Development - supporting actions/tasks may include:
  • Assist with fundraising initiatives
  • Assist with sponsor/donor events
  • Assist with individual donor outreach

Qualifications

Minimum Education Requirements:

  • In pursuit of or completed Associates, Bachelor's, or Master's Degree

Minimum Experience Requirements:

  • Interest in collegiate athletics administration

This position reports to: Wellness and Athletic Manager

This internship would be unpaid for the Spring Semester
